The 911 Hard Hat Pledge

Andy Sullivan of Blue Collar Corner, is the field supervisor of a huge east coast construction firm. He has initiated the 911 Hard Hat Pledge in response to our spineless elected officials and civic leaders who have betrayed the people of New York in their opposition to the Ground Zero Mosque. According to a Siena poll, 61% of New Yorkers are opposed, and 26% support the Cordoba House, a 13-story mosque to be built two blocks from Ground Zero on top of the ashes of the 3000 innocent lives and tragic heroes murdered in the September 11 terrorist attack. Mr. Sullivan is calling on all union and non-union tradesmen to make the pledge and refuse to work on the proposed mosque site or accept any associated contracts. He blogged the message:
To my readers please send me your names if you will make the 911 pledge and refuse to participate in the building of the Ground Zero Mosque. Go to my message board and state your trade or job that you do and join us. Our leaders are failing us it’s up to us. I want my children to grow up in a nation of pride and freedom but as was once told to me freedom only comes at great cost. God bless you all and God Bless America!
Please go to Blue Collar Corner and take the pledge and distribute this to your friends and associates in the construction and manufacturing trades. Our deepest gratitude goes to all the patriotic Americans who have already signed on and pledged not to participate in the construction of the mosque, which is a symbol of the triumph of Islamic supremacism over freedom. We know that America will remain free and strong by the responses of the red-blooded patriots in the construction trades who have pledged not to work on the site even though they may be unemployed at the time. Freedom is not free and this is the time to stand up for freedom. God bless you all.

Can I ask you one question? Do you still think that islamic terrorists were the only ones behind what happened on 9/11? Open up your eyes and do some research. Check out http://www.911truth.org/ or http://www.911sharethetruth.com/. I truly believe Islam was used and blamed for the events on that day. My personal feeling, the Israelis in conjunction with some hidden forces in this country were responsible. By protesting the Mosque you are doing exactly what the powers that be want you to do.. All I say is STOP BEING SHEEP and open your eyes and ears.
I WOULD BELIEVE THAT THE CONSTRUCTION OF THIS MOSQUE WOULD RAIS BUY A GREAT DEAL THE TENSIONS ALREADY TOO HIGH IN THE AREA . I THOUGHT COOLER HEADS WOULD PREVAIL AND REALIZE THE FOLLY OF THIS PROJECT .IT WILL ONLY BRING HEARTACHES AND MISTRUST FOR YEARS . DONT BUILD IT
I am an union electrician out of Michigan. I pledge, and I hope that all my union brothers and sisters will also, not to participate in the construction of a mosque at ground zero. It truly is a shame that the American people are forced to stand up and fight for or rights because our own government will not. I think you are doing a great thing Andy, I and I wish you well.
Keep up the fight Andy; and God bless all the construction workers and businesses pledging not to contribute effort or materials. Some will call you names and insinuate that you are either racially motivated or against the Muslim faith; but 70% of the nation knows better. This is about not allowing a victory Mosque near the tragic criminal events of 9/11. Again, God bless you.

how are you standing up and fighting for our rights by restricting the freedom of others? i don’t understand. were these people at cordoba house convicted of blowing up the wtc? i don’t recall that happening. so you are fighting for my rights by attempting to restrict the freedom of other american citizens who happen to have a common religion with the people who did blow up the wtc. really? is that what you believe?
I am a proud Local 3 Electrician and I pledge not to participate in this disgusting project. I just hope that the union officials will have half a brain and not even entertain the thought of building this terrorist center!!! This imam is a terrorist the religion inspires terrorism not peace READ the koran and see for yourself. There are so many questions and our leaders want to investigate American citizens and where they’re getting their funding from because they oppose the mosque, but won’t investigate the funding of this project unbeleivable. America unite and take this county back and kick these terrorists out!!!!
Andy you keep up the good work your doing. We have to get this WHOLE country involved. I work in a military barber shop in Fort Worth and I know everyone who comes here is on the SAME page with you and the rest of the New Yorkers. It is just ashamed that our elected officals have failed us terribly. We need to remember this come November. We need to take our country back. These elected offical need to remember who they work for..that would be for the people. We do NOT work for them. I cannot believe the issue of this dammed Mosque has went this far. I Pledge to support you with my wallet if you lose work, and will also speak to my doctor buddies to supply free medical care , anything we can do to prevent this abomination.I am from brooklyn and grew up watching the magnificent towers built and was an extra in Dino Delaurentis remake of King Kong We spent 2 days at the towers it was part of my soul. 9/11 was my 25th wedding anniversary.

Please take the hard hat pledge. My father was one of the people to die on september 11th. He was in the first plane that crashed into the world trade center. For this, he will be rememebered forever, however, take the hard hat pledge and let his name live forever. I know that the American people who live in NY will remember 9/11, and not let a foreign enemy infilitrate our sacred ground, preserving American history and letting it live on.
I don’t work construction either, but I’m behind all of you 100%.God Bless You, and thank you for standing tall. I hope you get every signature from every contractor/builder in not only NYC but NY State.
There are three images that are burned into my mind forever: the people jumping out windows so they did not burn to death, and the lone fireman in the church down the street, sitting in a pew with his head in his arms. I know he was exhausted, and probably crying and praying. And of course; the 3 fireman who raised our flag amidst the rubble. I liken that image to Iwo Jima.
10 years later, and I still cry for all of you, the Quick and the Dead. 9/12 is my birthday. It has never been the same since That Day.
I am not int the construction industry but I lost a coworker and friend on one of the planes and will support the this cause 100% in anything I can. To think of a mosque rising over the ashes of our lost americans makes me sick.

I am a retired Texas Peace Officer and would like to express my family’s boundless support for what you are doing. This isn’t about race, creed, color or religious affiliation. Instead,it is about exercising a moral conscience of ” DOING THE RIGHT THING ” for all of those innocent victims, as well as those courageous men and women who displayed selflessness courage in their attempts at helping others. Least we not forget the families and friends of those lost.

My wife and I are both Retired from DFW Airport. We’ve lived in Texas since 1998 but are natives of Cooperstown (NY). We’re both Roman Catholics’ but this isn’t about Religion, it’s doing the RIGHT THING. Mayor Bloomburg is siding with the Muslims because he has Radio Station intrests in the Muslim nations. Firstly, I wish people would actually read the Islamic texts – Communist (Socialist) as well – study it’s history from whatever perspective; “Left” or “Right” and compare what is factually correct to what is “politically correct” especially using the interpretations of Islamic Law on such subjects as Jihad, Dhimmi, Harbis, Teqiyya and Kitman from their own Imams and their own historical manuscripts prior to making such foolish “remarks”. All of this “globalism” and most of the policies by both “Dems” or “Reps” are blatantly unconstitutional…and nothing’s done. I suggest reading the texts and then comparing how the pro-Muslim works/propaganda relate and also the anti-Muslim works: Warraq, Bostom, Spencer, Ye’or, Shoebat etc.

Some local people found a way to stop the construction of another mosque
in their town.
They buried a pig carcass on the site, making sure this would be known by the
local press.
The Islamic Law: Sharia forbid the erecting of a Mosque on “pig soiled ground”.
The Moslems had to cancel the project..this land was sold to them by government officials.
No protests were needed by the local people…and It worked !!!

We are Americans who love our country. I am a retire union electrician and I strongly feel the mosque should NOT be built there. How can you build a mosque over the ashes and dust of dead Americans? That site is “Ground Zero” for over 3000 innocent people who died at the hands of Islamic fanatics.
In my view Islam is not a religion, but an organization of international thugs, a radical political organization masquerading as a religion so they can take advantage of “religious freedom” laws to smokescreen their terrorist agenda. So there!!! Does that make me a radical and a fanatic? I rather think it marks me as a patriot with my eyes wide open!

As a daughter, wife, mother to carpenters and steel workers I sincerely doubt this “mosque” will ever be built by American blue collar. Ground Zero is the closest we have to modern day American holy ground and for a mosque named Cordoba to be there is a slap in our faces. The name Cordoba has great meaning to muslims in their war against infandils, yes, we are all infandils.
YTo allow the mosque named Cordoba would signify another war won. Please look up the meaning of Cordoba in relationship to Islam.
Ive never heard something as stupid as what David F said. What are you Mel Gibson on Conspiracy Theory? YOU need to do some research. Start with Israel’s military…If Israel wanted to attack us, they would really attack us, they would not use this cowardly approach of hijacking airplanes. All that aside, Radical Muslims claimed responsibility for the attack. Thats a fact. And if you require proof just look at the pictures of the MUSLIM EXTREMIST that failed. This also reminds me of certain passage from the bible, “The greatest trick Satan ever pulled was convincing the world he does not exist.” Terrorism exists, and is fueled by our tolerance of all religious beliefs in the United States. Muslim extremists do ANYTHING they have to to accomplish their mission of killing “infadels”. That even means lying about one’s intentions behind building a mosque at Ground Zero. Ask yourself why this location is SSSSOOOO important to them. Obviously the majority of New Yorkers and America overall do not like the idea; so why pursue it?
-Only if you are UN-AMERICAN would you do such a thing. I am American, I accept anyone and their religion. As long as it does not involve murdering innocent people, and then using AMERICAN constitutional rights AND our 911 rebuilding funds (if they have their way) to rub it in our faces.

I applaud your initiative to oppose the building of the mosque. I reside in Indianapolis IN and was a visitor to Manhattan and the Trade Center site this past summer. I stayed with some folks in Brooklyn and heard stories of the brave firemen who lost their lives in the tragedy. I also heard stories of men and women who left their chosen professions to become fire fighters in Manhattan.
I know of no one in Indiana who is in favor of the mosque.
The prayers of the Abba, Father Chapter of Catholics United for the Faith are with you in opposing the mosque and the traitorous actions of our government.

Mr. Sullivan, thank you for being so dedicated. I would like to see Bloomberg run out of town. How can New Yorkers even stand what he wants done there? I am from KY and have been doing all I can with my congress and senate leaders from my state by writing very often. They are probably tired of me by now.
