Disappointing Drudge

• February 5, 2012 • Uncategorized

For years, the Drudgereport was my go to news aggregation site for both the most up to date political news and gossip. However, as a loyal Drudge visitor, I feel hoodwinked by his lobbying and electioneering for Mitt Romney. Ever since Newt Gingrich won the South Carolina primary, Drudge has run a barrage of negative stories straight from the coffers of Romney HQ against the Former Speaker of the House with such ridiculousness like Newt never liked Ronald Reagan.

That’s not to say that Gingrich should not be criticized for his real faults, however Drudge’s approach smells: and it smells like green.  It’s no secret that Romney’s campaign is flush with cash and Drudge doesn’t do his site for charity.  Truth is any news organization operating has ulterior motives, however few are so blatant about it.  I suppose we should thank Drudge for wearing his allegiances on his sleeve.  However, even former Sen. Fred Thompson remarked that the Romney campaign has Drudge in their “back pocket.”

Thanks Donna for commenting.  Sadly there are few sites so unique like Drudge.  I like you I’m sure go to the American Thinker often, but it doesn’t do the job Drudge does in selecting the best articles to read across the web; however his judgment is obviously going faulty.  I also like Arts & Letters Daily, but it is more refined in scope.  In terms of layout A&L is the only thing close to Drudge.
