Disappointing

Barack Obama could give a damn about human rights, unless of course it’s a terrorist. Over and over again since he has been president, he and his administration have stood on the side of dictatorship, as opposed to the hard-working activists, battling regimes such as those in Beijing who brutally re-patriot North Korean refugees, its systemic censorship of the Internet and the press, its one-child policy, its lack of a true judicial system, its failure to let country dwellers move to the city to receive better jobs, its banning of house churches, and much more.
Despite these facts, for the first time, the president has agreed to allow the Chinese National Flag to be hoisted on the South Lawn of the White House to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the People’s Republic of China. It’s understood we have a strong relationship with China, but we don’t have to be celebrating the country’s founding. Especially when this nation was on the other side of that struggle. To deny the application by Chinese groups would have sent a message to all those struggling activists that the United States is with you.
